Annual Iams Homestead Pioneer Harvest Fest
October 9, 2021
10 AM-5PM
There’s dew on the ground
as the volunteers for the Trotwood-Madison Historical Society arrive at the
Iams Homestead to begin an exciting day. Perking coffee smells permeate the air
and everyone is bustling around with last minute preparations. It’s going to be
a fun day in Trotwood.
Invite friends, neighbors and
relatives out to Harvest Fest. The Iams
Homestead Museum
will be open for tours of the displays. The 1854 barn will also be open with
displays of tools of all kinds.
Country Store has a fine collection
of items for your shopping pleasure. The Halloween corner will surely have
something for trick or treat decorating while the remainder of the studio has
become an autumn avenue of shopping. All of our merchandise has been donated by
members, friends of the Society and the community at large, giving us
one-of-a-kind treasures which have been lovingly cleaned and displayed for your
viewing and shopping pleasure.
Tractors, harvesting equipment,
corn and tobacco crops are on display. There will be blacksmith demonstrations
as well as corn husking and the antique Trotwood trailer on display. Have you
seen our outstanding Bur Oak Tree? It’s
very important in the history of Ohio and Trotwood. Come see and read about
it.
Smell the wood fire, prepared to
receive the big iron pot to keep the chili hot and ready for eating throughout
the day and hot dogs cooked over the same open fire. Along with the chili
and hotdogs, coffee, soft drinks and water will all be available for the price
of a donation. Admission to the Fest
is free.
Remember the date and time,
Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 10am-5pm at the Iams Homestead, 349 S. Broadway,
Trotwood OH 45426. It will be our pleasure to have you join us for a fun-filled
day of family activities. Thanks to everyone who helps with this event and we
hope to see YOU on October 9.
